Designing since 2008

Hi! Thanks for stopping by.

As Design Lead at Loan Market Group, I lead a distributed team of designers for Australia + New Zealand's largest mortgage and finance broking aggregator. My team supports the platform MyCRM, which is the #1 software solution in the broking industry, as voted by brokers. LMG brokers helped over 300,000 customers settle over $130 billion worth of loans in 2022 and reached a collective loan book of $350 billion.

I have over 15 years experience in design, with 7 years leading teams. Previously I was Director of Design at Alpaca Markets, leading an org of global designers and marketing specialists. Alpaca is a fintech start up with $120 million in funding, providing financial services to users globally including algorithmic trading and brokerage services of US stocks, crypto and options via their APIs.

I have worked in large corporate companies on B2B products at Expedia, to consumer facing products used by millions of Australian’s at News Corp. I worked in the NFT and Crypto industry with Australian based start up, Virtually Human Studios (VHS), leading a team of 10+ designers, 3D artists, design system specialists and user researchers. You can read about my early experience here.

I have spent half my career at early stage companies infusing a user centred mindset while scaling design teams. I have been influential in bringing lean practises to product teams to support empowered teams. Over the years I helped build many products from 0-1, guiding designers to lean in to user centred and data driven design. I strive to build diverse teams and safe spaces, ensuring everyone feels included and all voices are heard. I was a board member of the Expedia Pride team for 3 years, you can view the external video here. I was accepted into Google's Rare Leadership academy in 2022. The course is for leaders in the creative industry to learn the tools and working models they need to thrive so that they may go on and change the industry from within to create more equitable workplaces. Between 2017 and 2019 I volunteered with Out for Australia, to support LGBTQIA+ young professionals to be their authentic selves at work. This was also an imporant moment in Australia's history, as we were supporting young professionals during Australia's Marriage Equality referendum.

I am passionate about products that drive meaningful change, and am excited I use innovative technologies including blockchain, ai, APIs and solve for new to market problems. I have written about some of my experiences in fast paced start ups, specifically in web3 here Medium.com. I am available to speak about my experiences and share my knowledge in design, having been a speaker at various global conferences including Beyond Games: Exploring the User Experience in the Virtual World, UX Meetups and the well known Australia Digital Conference Something Digital: Creation, ownership, engagement and monetisation – how should business step into the metaverse.
